This Simple Approach Will Skyrocket Your Sales Overnight

Sales and life are both really a lot tougher than they seem. But they don’t have to be nearly as difficult as you make them out to be.

And if you use just this one single skill, you can dramatically improve your sales performance and your quality of life.

What am I talking about?

It’s called “emotional balance.” You’ve already heard of it, or similar terms. There’s only about a million self-help books written on the subject.

When you get to a balanced internal state, everything around you flows so easily.

Most of us know where we’d like to be mentally, but with all the stress and busyness of daily life, it’s awfully hard to get and stay balanced.

How do you do it? Some tips:

1. The best time to take a break is…

When you don’t have the time to take one! Everyone needs a little time off to refresh and restore – some more than others.

When you’re at your busiest and don’t seem to have even just a few minutes to relax, that’s the perfect time to take a break (even if it is just a short one).

2. Do what you can to help (not hurt) others

Sales thought leader Dan Waldschmidt has an awesome quote on a recent blog post that goes like this:

Living your life as a victim is simply self sabotage. The more you hurt others, the more hurt and miserable you yourself feel.

So if you find yourself saying nasty things to others, it’s time to find out why and put an end to it. You’ve known somebody at your office, or maybe you know someone right now, who constantly talks negatively about other people. That drains everyone else’s energy – and your own.

Instead, focus on building up the other members of your sales team. Do whatever you think will be most helpful to them:

  • Give them advice on a technique you used to improve your own sales
  • Talk good about them behind their backs
  • Elevate their status by bringing out the positive things they’ve done at team meetings

Remember, whatever you do comes back to you. Make sure everything you do in the real world helps others.

3. Exercise and keep a hobby that is not work!

Work, and your work performance, are very important. Sometimes you have to put in long hours to succeed. And in some cases, you have to do it for weeks and months on end.

That’s fine, but no human being can keep up a frantic pace for months and years on end without paying a huge emotional price for it.

And besides all your other responsibilities to friends and family, it’s hard to squeeze in time for yourself.

But you have to do it.

Otherwise, you’ll burn out. And when that happens, your performance can fall so low that you even risk losing your job!

The “balanced you” lets the best parts of yourself come to life

Don’t get me wrong here – you won’t stay perfectly balanced in life. In fact, it’s impossible to do so day in and day out.

You’ll have those days where you feel perfectly balanced and centered, and sales seems like the easiest thing in the world. And then you’ll have those rough days where you know you are far off center, and it’s hard work to even come close to your typical performance level.

But, the point is you will do better the closer to balanced and centered you stay.

And everyone’s got their own plan for staying in a good mental state.

Figure out what you need to do to get there, do it, and watch your sales performance skyrocket.
