The Perfect Daily Routine for Sales Success

The sometimes controversial David Beckham would throw away one can of Diet Pepsi if he had 3 because he liked even numbers.

We’re not going to give you any superstitions like these, but those pros believe they worked. We can give you hints on what helps some salespeople achieve far greater success than others:

1. Take Care of Your Body

Anthony Iannarino runs 6-7 days per week. He runs 35 minutes on the short side, but on longer days he pushes that to an hour and forty minutes, or longer.

You don’t have to run that much.

But you do need rigorous physical exercise during the week to keep your mind sharp throughout the day.

2. Set Your Goals For the Day…The Day Before

In the morning, you’re scrambling too much to think straight. Set your agenda of things to do the day before.

If you get 75% of those things done, you’ve had a productive day.

3. Wake Up Early

Your kids and the whole rest of the family wake up between 6:30 – 7:30. You don’t have the time to mentally prep for your day then while you attend to their needs.

So you have to adjust.

There’s no exact time to wake up. But, start your day at 5-5:30, and end it between 9:30 – 10:00.

You’re in full swing by the time everyone else rises.

4. Do 1 Thing Differently or Better than Yesterday

You don’t have to do something big. This isn’t the time to pitch your boss on a new change that will revolutionize your department.

We’re referring to small incremental change here.

5. Check in with a Mentor

This doesn’t need to be someone at your company, although you can go that route. You need someone you trust who’s further along the success path than you.

A mentor sees those parts of you that you can’t and points them out to you.

Text or e-mail the one thing you’re going to do differently to them to hold yourself accountable.

6. Outsource Help to a Business Student

Seriously. Your strengths lie in interacting with clients.

Maybe you have some others too.

But, you do know you have some tasks right now that you aren’t that great at or don’t like.

So…hire those tasks out, says Colleen Francis. Stop putting too much on your plate in life. And instead delegate.

Do more of what matters.

You’ll feel less stress and be more effective when you do.
